Coaching
for Parents of Athletes

Helping parents manage their emotions is also preparing their child to succeed

Parent Coaching — Mental Training

In a young athlete's performance, parents play a decisive role. Their presence is essential support — but it can also, despite the best intentions, become a source of pressure.

Since 2011, I've worked with young athletes, high-level competitors, and their families. That experience led me to offer this coaching specifically for parents, because the family environment plays a significant part in athletic progress. Finding the right words — and managing parents' emotions.

In this work, I bring in powerful tools from performance psychology: analysis of the cognitive biases that shape our reactions, the principle of de-polarization to step out of all-or-nothing thinking, and emotion management strategies to turn pressure into constructive energy.

Why parent coaching?

Parents ride the emotional rollercoaster of competitive sport: pride in the wins, pain from the losses, daily sacrifices. They're the first coaches — sometimes without meaning to be — and their attitude directly affects their child's motivation, confidence, and balance.

The car ride home after a defeat: how do you stay a calming parent?

Managing your own reactions to your child's performances isn't always easy… How do you support without overloading? How do you encourage without adding pressure?

Parent coaching was built precisely to answer those situations.

The sessions aim to:

  • ✓ Welcome and regulate your own emotions around sporting stakes
  • ✓ Support without overloading: find the right distance between encouragement and pressure
  • ✓ Adopt an emotional neutrality that feels safe for your child
  • ✓ Improve communication with the coach and the wider circle
  • ✓ Build a protective, consistent family climate — essential for both performance and well-being

What your child gains

By working on their role, parents help their child:

  • • Develop more autonomy in managing emotions and pressure
  • • Clarify their sporting project and their goals for progress
  • • Find a better balance between sport, school, and personal life
  • • Grow in maturity and self-knowledge — valuable assets for personal development
