If some still wonder what it is, here are 5 answers just for you. 5 questions / 5 answers

What is mental training?

What is mental training?

Mental training is a support process that helps develop confidence, concentration, emotion regulation and stress management to optimize performance.

In my words: "Mental preparation covers so many things: preparing for a competition, learning to manage pressure. Whether it's explicitly addressed in sessions or not, self-confidence is always involved. When you teach a young athlete or help a high-level athlete better manage their emotions, you always influence an improvement in confidence."

When should you start mental training?

Mental training starts as soon as there is a goal, pressure or stake—before, during or after a competition, an exam or a professional challenge.

In my words: Mental training is useful all the time. I often explain that sport or any discipline is only a framework to work within. The purpose—whether performance, progression, competition (…)—quickly becomes an opportunity to learn the mechanisms of stress, relaxation and concentration, which are useful throughout life. Start mental training as early as possible. Don't wait for a poor performance!

Who is mental training for?

Mental training is aimed at athletes, students, executives and anyone facing a performance or pressure situation.

In my words: "I mainly work with motivated athletes and competitors of all sports and ages, but it's really for anyone who understands that life is made of decisions and that the mental side is not optional. Today's instant culture (smartphones, constant immediacy) massively impacts our ability to manage frustration. The reactions that follow can have short-, medium- or long-term consequences. We increasingly need support. More and more people who want to live better, think more about themselves and their life balance contact me for personal development."

How long does mental training take?

The duration depends on the goal and the situation, but a few sessions are often enough to establish solid foundations, while longer support enables deeper work.

In my words: "Working on yourself with a mental trainer is a collaboration. You can quickly address crucial points that unblock things—like an osteopath—but of course doing deeper, sustained work is effective like a physiotherapist; whether to prepare competitions, move toward flow or simply manage your own cognitive biases that can trip us up and lead to self-sabotage. So it's not just work of depolarization. I usually offer 5-session packs and 10-session packs because if you don't want long-term therapy, these durations and numbers of sessions are particularly well suited."

How does mental training work?

Mental training works through concrete tools, personalized routines and work on the unconscious, emotions and cognitive mechanisms to leverage pressure and boost performance.

In my words: "To support you I trained in tools I find truly powerful and effective. In addition to my Mental Preparation diploma from STAPS I am trained in Ericksonian Hypnosis. My sessions are a skilful blend of transactional analysis, NLP, hypnosis, explicitation interviews and relaxation techniques, meditation, breathing, visualization, and mental imagery. I use these techniques both at my Rennes practice and remotely."

My goal: to help you achieve your objectives.
